Getting To Work For Ward 5

Lydia King is working for a Salem that works better for all its residents, from young people starting out, to seniors and our most vulnerable populations.

Why Lydia?

Helping Young People and Families Start Strong

Supporting Salem's Vulnerable Residents

From affordable housing to better schools and safer roadways, Lydia is focused on ensuring Salem is a community where people are excited and able to start their lives and to grow their families

With rising healthcare and housing costs, Salem's fixed-income residents face a difficult economic situation in the coming years. Lydia aims to ease this burden and allow people to age in place and near family.

A Background Based in Community Organizing

A Northshore native hailing from a union household in Lynn, Lydia has worked to enrich her community in Salem through non-profit work with the Salem Education Foundation, Solidarity Rising, and other organizations

Results Driven Policy

Lydia believes that policy should drive results for our community. Across housing, transportation, affordability, schools, and the environment, Lydia is committed to ensuring the city council passes legislation that positively impacts the lives of Salem's residents.

A Community Approach

With a background in community organizing, Lydia knows how important it is to connect with your neighbors, especially in times of crisis or hardship. It's critical we connect our community to build a Salem that values and protects every individual. Join the community newsletter to learn more about what's going on in Ward 5.
